Accessibility statement
Mortgage information should be understandable and usable without unnecessary digital barriers. This statement explains the accessibility standard HopeWell aims to apply and how to report a problem.
Our accessibility commitment
HopeWell aims to make its public digital information and mortgage-service interactions usable by people with disabilities. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing product and content requirement rather than a one-time certification claim.
Ontario's website accessibility requirements apply to specified organizations, including designated public-sector organizations and businesses or non-profits with 50 or more employees. Regardless of the threshold applicable to HopeWell at a particular time, accessible design remains the intended operating standard for this website.
What we work toward
- Clear heading structure, meaningful link text and keyboard-usable navigation.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images and accessible names for interactive controls.
- Readable contrast, visible focus states and layouts that remain usable when text is enlarged.
- Labels, instructions and error handling for forms and financial inputs.
- Accessible calculator interactions and testing as components evolve.
Known limitations and continuous improvement
A large website can contain legacy content, third-party tools, downloadable files or newly released interfaces that do not perform equally well with every assistive technology. Identified barriers should be prioritized according to their effect on access to mortgage information and service.
HopeWell does not claim that an automated test alone proves accessibility. Manual review, keyboard testing, screen-reader considerations and user feedback remain important parts of improving the experience.
Requesting help or an alternate format
If a page, calculator, form or document creates an accessibility barrier, contact HopeWell and identify the page or material involved and the format or accommodation that would help. We will work with the requester to provide the information or service in an accessible way where reasonably possible and applicable.
