Licensing and regulatory status

Hopewell Mortgages Inc. is an Ontario mortgage brokerage. This page explains how to independently verify licensing and how HopeWell distinguishes regulatory status from marketing claims.

How Ontario mortgage licensing is verified

Mortgage brokerages, brokers and agents operating in Ontario are regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario. The official public registry, rather than a website badge or biography, is the authoritative place to verify current licensing status.

HopeWell publishes its brokerage licence information and identifies its Principal Broker so visitors can cross-check those details against the regulator's public records.

What a licence does and does not mean

Licensing establishes regulatory status; it is not a promise that a particular mortgage will be approved, that every lender is available, or that a recommendation is suitable before the client's needs and circumstances have been assessed.

Mortgage options remain subject to borrower qualification, lender underwriting, property review, documentation, disclosure requirements and suitability assessment.

Website information is not a licence substitute

  • Use the official regulator registry to verify current brokerage and individual licensing status.
  • Treat website biographies, badges and licence numbers as convenient reference information, not as a replacement for regulator verification.
  • Contact the Principal Broker if a licensing, representation or scope-of-practice question cannot be resolved from the public information available.
