The FSRA transfer process

FSRA says a licensed Level 1 agent, Level 2 agent or broker can transfer to another brokerage if the licence has not expired. The Principal Broker of the new brokerage initiates the transfer through Licensing Link, the licensee confirms the transfer, and the new Principal Broker submits it.

FSRA currently charges no fee for a licence transfer. A licensee can practice under only one sponsoring brokerage at a time.

Resolve the commercial transition before clicking transfer

The regulatory transfer can be simple while the business transition is not. Review your existing agreement for notice, outstanding commissions, chargebacks, client database, renewals, marketing assets, team obligations, confidentiality, outstanding files and post-termination restrictions.

This page is not legal advice. If the contractual consequences are material or disputed, obtain independent legal advice before acting.

Create a live-file transition list

Before moving, identify every active client and transaction and determine who remains responsible for the file. A borrower with a financing-condition deadline should not discover the brokerage transition through a missed lender request.

Coordinate with both brokerages on permitted communication, lender records, document access and compliance responsibilities. Do not move confidential client information outside authorized systems merely because you originated the relationship.

Use the move to fix the reason you are leaving

If the problem was training, ask the next brokerage to show the curriculum. If it was economics, model net payout. If it was slow deal support, ask for escalation standards. If it was technology, see the actual workflow. Changing logos without changing the operating problem simply resets the frustration.
